Prepared for impacts
We are prepared should COVID-19 impact our patient services. As a national healthcare company with pharmacies located throughout the United States, medication fulfillment is unlikely to be disrupted. We are working closely with national carriers to prevent possible disruption in delivering medications to patients.
We continue to work closely with drug manufacturers and partners to take the appropriate steps to meet your medication needs. We use multiple vendors and manufacturers to supply medication — this helps reduce risks of shortages. We're also monitoring the situation via Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO).
COVID-19 Facts
What is COVID-19?
COVID-19 disease is caused by a virus called SARS-CoV-2, a newly identified type of coronavirus also determined to cause an outbreak of respiratory illness, first detected in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. This outbreak began in early December 2019 and continues to grow.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) believes at this time that symptoms of COVID-19 may appear in as few as two days or as long as 14 days after exposure (incubation period is believed to be roughly 10-14 days). The symptoms of this virus are difficult to distinguish as they are similar to those of the common cold:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
- Fever (may or may not be present)
It is important to know when to seek medical attention for symptoms that could be related to the coronavirus. Emergency warning signs include: trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, new confusion or inability to arouse, bluish lips or face.
Tips for preventing the coronavirus
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth
Clean and disinfect all surfaces frequently
Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue
Stay home when you are sick
Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds — especially after coughing or sneezing
